With everything happening in 2020, it's hard to find time to take a mental break from the world around us.
However, now that the sun and warmth have arrived, it's the perfect time to find a little peace of mind and unwind. Here are a few activities that will help you relax this summer in Alberta.
Get a little lost in Alberta
Sometimes the best way to find your zen is by doing some exploring outdoors. Luckily, Alberta has a ton of spots to explore. Get a little lost along the way and stumble on some amazing scenery, like this photo from Wood Buffalo, only 4.5 hours outside of Edmonton, where you can see the Aurora at night.
Road trip through nearby Alberta towns
There's so much history and scenery to be experienced around Alberta, and what better way to do it than hitting the road? We can't travel to other provinces yet, but we can explore our own. Stay close to home and enjoy the road trip playlist while checking out the sites to see, like Canada's biggest baseball glove in Heisler.
Take advantage of Alberta's beautiful hikes
Exercise can definitely help you relax, especially when the view along the way is breathtaking. Hiking in Alberta is an awe-inspiring experience, and the scenery alone will surely bring you some serenity. Take, for example, the gorgeous hiking in Crowsnest Pass, only 2.5 hours away from Calgary.
Soak up the sun in Medicine Hat
Like we said, soaking up the summer sun is easily one of the most relaxing things you can do in the summer. Just feeling the sun beating down, getting a bit of a tan, or feeling the warmth during a walk or by the water is easily one of the highlights of the season. Luckily, Medicine Hat's Red Rock Coulee and other locations make the surroundings reflect the sun even more.
Enjoy summer on the lake
We don't say #TakeItToTheLake for nothing. Something about being along the water just oozes relaxation. Whether it's kayaking, floating, swimming, or tanning on the beach, there are so many ways to relax along the water you might not be able to decide what to do!
