Morning – Bike or hike the park’s trails

Start the day off with a hike or bike on one of the park’s many trails. Castle Wildland Provincial Park’s forest trails are not only breathtaking, they are also accessible to all. Whether by car, wheelchair, bicycle, or on foot, this is a park that is meant to be enjoyed by everyone.

Mid-morning – Castle Falls

After taking in the beautiful scenery of the forested trails, head to Castle Falls where you will find a scenic river and waterfall to fall in love with. Spend some time wading in the water, inspecting the greenery, or just enjoying the ambience of this space. The area is also a prime camping spot where you can fall asleep at night to the tranquil sound of the waterfall in the distance.

A Castle Park Guide will teach you all the basics of fishing, like how to tie a fishing line, how to cast and reel, and how to identify the different species of fish in the lake. Required fishing gear and a fishing license are included.

Evening – Sunset canoe on Beaver Mines Lake

Experience a tranquil end to an eventful day by renting a canoe and taking a sunset paddle on Beaver Mines Lake. As the sun sets in an array of colours, enjoy the peaceful sounds of loons calling in the background, the dramatic view of the mountains in the distance, and the breeze flowing through the trees.
