11 am – Bring your sweet tooth and drop by Summerland Sweets for more home-made Okanagan goodness. It’s never too early for ice cream, which you can also indulge in here. Chances are you’ll see owners working in the shop and you’ll learn about the history of the orchard business and its importance to the Okanagan. You could spend quite a bit of time sampling the jams, syrups, wine, and candies. Located at 6206 Canyon View Road. Here’s how to get there.

Read Rebecca Bollwitt’s (aka Miss 604) story for more details on planning a trip like this.

1 pm – Hike Giant’s Head, which is actually an extinct volcano and named because of its resemblance to, you guessed it, a giant’s head. You’ll get amazing views from 500 metres up over Summerland, vineyards, Lake Okanagan and Penticton to the south. Hike for as little or as long as you like. Learn more about the hiking here.

4 pm – You’ll be good and ready for more sweet treats at Maple Roch Pure Canadian Maple Syrup. Get your fill of all flavours of maple syrup like sea salt caramel or pick up a few souvenirs for friends and family back home, such as maple lip balm or hand scrub. Located at 13224 Victoria Road North, Summerland.
